I have read quite a few anecdotes of people using supplemental IP6 and subsequently developing cavities. I was under the impression that phytic acid would only interfere with mineral absorption if taken with meals. Others have stated it will actually leach minerals out of the body and consequently lead to under-mineralized saliva, which is the body's way of maintaining tooth enamel.
The reason I ask is that I have been taking IP6 for about 5 or 6 months and have developed pain in one back molar. I am 35, have never had a cavity and have changed nothing with my diet or routine. I am beginning to wonder if there is some validity to these rumors about phytic acid/IP6 supplementation.
Any ideas?
