Hi. I have Doctor's Best ALCAR HCL (Biosint version made by Sigma-Tau). The directions say to take it with meals. But I've read on numerous forum posts that taking it on an empty stomach is recommended. However, I haven't been able to find solid scientific sources. So, what gives?

I have a similar question with Bacopa. I've read that it is better absorbed with fats so I've been taking it with my meals. I have Pure Encapsulations brand and it says to take with meals as well. But I've seen plenty of people on the internet recommend taking it on an empty stomach. Is there a clear consensus?

Thanks!
