Hey guys I have a question.
So we al know retinoids, generally are great for the skin. However, we are also faily slow to claim it can help sagging. I believe this is because it works primarily on superficial dermal collagen, rather than the deep collagen which is in part responsible for holding our existing subcutaneous fat in a more youthful, less sagging position.
So. My question is, since retinoids DO decrease MMPS which are know to obviously damage not only superficial collagen, but also deep collagen and elastin, do you think for somebody who used retinoids, the retinoids would, prevent those MMPS from harming not only superficial collagen (which will become more abundant from the use of retinoids anyway), but lso the deeper, strcutural collagen? Sort of like the MMP inhibition acting like a road block in a sense?
