This would probably do better being posted in the philosophy section, as it is a hypothetical question and a very interesting one at that. This forum is for discussing things that we can do in the here and now to try to push life extension forward.
Which Birmingham are you from, the UK one like me or the Alabama one in USA?
Thanks for the information, I think it would be more suited to that section after all! I'm from the UK Birmingham, where are you from if you don't mind me asking?
I think he's brainstorming. Yes, the replacement organ technology is improving rapidly, I was recently informed about bioprinted mini kidneys that performed "good as new." That's up from just 10% performance a year or two ago. They would very likely improve all sorts of health and cognitive metrics and be free of metabolic byproducts we just can't remove yet. Still, this would be an expensive procedure. In today's future, Darth Vader would have had a bioprinted replacement body and it would be cheaper than maintaining his prosthetics. By Star Wars VI he would have been on all sorts of meds trying to keep his body alive with so much machine integration. The burned, degraded skin alone would have compromised his body's ability to detox itself, It does as much work as the liver or kidney iirc. Forget Luke and Yoda, the mighty Vader was at the mercy of his doctor and imperial healthcare. lol
Hahaha I like the way you integrated Star Wars into that! A very suitable reply in deed!
I will look into that advancement in kidney replacement, seems interesting!
