Thanks.  I think over at qualityliposomes the guy there claims that he has examined homemade liposome Vitamin C and declared that it was about as good as the lab made stuff.

My problem with homemade is that I just don't have the means to do quality control on my product.  I sort of have to take it on faith that I actually got my target compound (in this case trehalose) encapsulated in a meaningful quantity.  I'll do it if that's my only choice or if getting someone to make it is just too damn expensive, but it isn't my first choice.

Here we go.  I'm intrigued by this guy's research.  Claims good particle size.

Yeah, I've read that guy's blog.  But, he apparently has some lab equipment to measure his success at creating vitamin C liposomes.  Maybe if I follow his procedure I get the same result.  But I sure would like to check that and not assume it.  And of course, trehalose is not vitamin C.  Would you get different results with trehalose?  Don't know.  Maybe someone that knows more about liposomal encapsulation could answer that.

And the patent he refers to.  Seems to detail a method for making the stuff with good nano sizes. Woo Hoo...!

Particle size matters in compounds that aren't lipid or water soluble, but that's not a real issue with trehalose.  All we have to do is get it across the gut wall.

I guess smaller liposomes may be better at passing across the intestinal wall, so that's good.

Over the holiday I can analyse the patent.  2K is a bit much for the ultrasonic thing he's using.  Devil's in the details as usual.

I may have found a German company that will encapsulate trehalose for us as well.  I ran across them looking for liposomal resveratrol and discovered they have a broad line of liposomal products.  I would like to convince them that this is something that they would want to carry as a standard product, but failing that they mentioned they would encapsulated whatever I wanted for a 4L minimum purchase.  Don't know anything about pricing or any details.  I'll probably pick up the conversation with them after the first of the year.  I'm sort of assuming that a lot of companies in Germany will be closed between Christmas and New Year's.

Hmmm...   how much $ , I wonder.  Also wonder about shelf life and shipping.  Interesting...........

Have no details at this point. I do know that they sell variants of their liposomal products with 10% ethanol content to address the shelf life issues.

This is the company that I've contacted.   https://www.actinovo...n/products/?p=1

Given their product line this would seem like a natural for them.  I'd really like to see someone make this as a standard product.  I think liposomal trehalose has more potential than some of the other products they already sell.

Affordable. I'm impressed.

We gotta try this trehalose thing.  Could be the next rapamycin minus the toxicity and barriers to obtaining.

I know that I'm certainly taking other supplements right now that don't have the potential that trehalose has.
