Researchers at the Houston Methodist Research Institute created a new delivery system for chemo drugs and discovered that they destroyed breast cancer cells in at least half of the mice with a terminal diagnosis. Researchers used doxorubicin treated with microscopic silicon disks and injected the mice with the concoction. The silicon disk apparently hides the chemo drug long enough for it to enter the heart of the rogue cell and destroy it.

 

 

Mauro Ferrari, president of the Houston Methodist Research Institute, said: ‘I would never want to over-promise to the thousands of patients looking for a cure but the data is astounding.’

 

Experts however state not to be overly optimistic as lab results often do not translate over to human beings.
