I've got something I'd like to try that I think will be a real win-win.

I discussed doing Longecity meetups once with Justin/Mind. I see a ton of value in being able to meet with like minded members of the Longecity community.

I'd like to volunteer to organize meetups in 20 odd cities world wide around the tentative date of Saturday, May 7th.
  • I'm going to leverage the popular event platforms to promote the meetup Eventbrite, Meetup.com, Facebook events, etc
  • I will create attractive graphics/web flyer for the events in the different cities
  • I'm going to create cool little meetup invitation video, with globe zoom-in animation (like the video below) for each city which I will syndicate on Youtube and Facebook
  • I will personally host meetups in Berlin and London. For the other cities I will assign someone from either my community or Longecity to be a semi-official host in those cities.
  • The meetups will be free to attend for everyone.
Here's the cities I've selected
Austin‬, TX
Barcelona‬, Spain
Berlin‬, Germany
Chicago‬, IL
Cologne, Germany
Dallas
Denver‬, CO
Las Angeles
Las Vegas
London‬
Madison, WI
Medellin‬
Mexico City
New York
San Diego, CA
San Francisco, CA
Singapore
Sydney‬
Tel Aviv
Toronto‬
Washington D.C

I'm aiming to strike a balance between productive meetups supporting the Longecity mission and organic free flowing discussion about whatever interests the attendees. It would be a good idea to have hosts at the events too...
  • Greet people & facilitate introductions
  • Suggest some discussion themes
  • Keep the discussion respectful and steer clear of getting to far into the weeds, philosophically or politically speaking.
The official titles of the events will just be
Denver Biohacker Meetup #1
London Biohacker Meetup #1
Berlin Biohacker Meetup #1
You get the idea...

I did several free Biohacker meetups like this in South America last year, which were attended by between 10-30 people. I made some good friends through these little meetups and am eager to duplicate that success.

Please respond with
1) Suggestions of cities with a lot of LongeCIty members or people interested in Biohacking
2) If you could host a meetup in your city
3) Other ideas?

Here's the flyer I did for a previous event in south america, I'll do something similar for each of the cities of the Longecity Biohacker meetup MLM-Sky1200.jpg

Here's the global zoom in animation... Pretty cool right?

Thanks!

I would definitely like to see this happen. I have a handful of resources that might help from my previous work to organize local chapters.

Anyone in Wales?

London is such a big market for everything biohacking-transhumanism related... I think it would make more sense to just do a meetup there. That meetup I intend to host myself actually.

Great. Which city in your area of the country would be a good place to do such an event? You could host?

Possibly, maybe somewhere in Wilmington.

It's close to Philly though and Delaware is less populous. I've met maybe 2 Delawarians from LC.

Will you be trying to make this an official meetup? Have you submitted an application?

Hey Alvin,

Does 60 Wall Street have a cafe that would be a good place to host such a meetup?

Thanks!

Hey guys -  I've created a cool map here on my website of where the events will be held.

I've created some invitational videos on Youtube for the different cities

I've created eventbrite pages for all the events

Which are public and I'm getting some RSVP notifications.

What can we do to share these with the Longecity community?

This is a great idea.  Thanks for taking the lead on this Roseland.  I am in Atlanta and willing to help organize something if there are others.  Let me know.  - Rob
