Hi,

- Fasting inhibits mTOR.

- If you search for mTOR inhibitors you will find loads, but most of them will inhibit the mTOR in the liver, kidney, etc, etc. We need it in the brain.

Here is a photo of the synapse look with MDMA (long term)

(Left) Excess synapses in the brain of a child with autism (Right) Properly pruned synapses of a developmentally typical child.

Children with autism have overactive mTOR, which prevents autophagy from ‘cleaning house’ and getting rid of the damaged synapses.

Hmmm... maybe it's time for me to do a few days of water only fasting. That stuff's good for all sorts of stuff, not just drug tolerances, but also hormesis and rejuvenation.

I've tried a ten days water fast 2 years ago.

I've never experienced such a peace of mind since my childhood.

Unfortunately the feelings stays only a few days after the end of the fast, and a week or two after I was back to my old self (slight depression, social anxiety, disthymia...).

Nevertheless, I will definitely try it again, and probably fast regularly once or two per year for 10 to 20 days, as a reset of my body and mind.

The most difficult parts of fasting to my experience are:

- to start (you'll always find multiple reasons to delay a fast)

- the first few days (after day 2 you'll lose the hunger feelings, and the psychological hunger is totally gone after day 4)

You should check Valter Longo researches on fast and cancer, it's really interesting.

Ketogenic diet inhibits mTOR signaling in hippocampus and liver of normal rats.

Fasting is in the some way high-fat, low-carb diet.

I wonder if all this neurogenesis nootropics like dihexia and nsi-189 is actuality moving some users closer to autism. After a while of taking nsi-189 I would feel awkward in some social setting and feel way too much in my head. I am normally very good in social interactions.

To restore/reset drug tolerances, Iboga/memantine/lobelia are effective.
