Life Insurance?...

I have read before that it is a good idea to take out life insurance, if one is considering signing up for Cryonics in the near future. My mother would like to know if 100, 000 is enough for me, as she has been speaking to the bank about getting life insurance; and she knows that I hope to sign up at Alcor. And he suggested that it was a wise move, especially as I am still so young and a student. What have you done?

If you sign up with Alcor, and are recovered, you should know that you would have no legal claim to the money - since the money was for when you die.

OTOH, Alcor cannot receive you until you are legally dead anyway, and your status with them is as 'dead'.

It sounds like your mother intends to set up a trust for you if you die. That's awfully sweet of her, to accept your membership with Alcor.
