My dad is 70 years old and was diagnosed with vascular dementia last year. His CT scans results showed extensive changes through the cerebral deep white matter in keeping with extensive small vessel disease. There is an old infarct in the right cerebellar hemisphere posteriorly. There is mild compensatory dilation of the lateral ventricles. He is not on any medications. Excellent BMI and blood pressure of 95/72. He does need some day care now as there has been some slippage in his health over the last year, but generally still able to a certain extent, he's himself most of the time and has been on holidays etc.

He has tried the lysine protocol 3grams a day and has been taking Vitamin K inbetween garlic and vitamin e. Also Vinpocetine, Ginkgo and Citicoline for blood flow. He has also had vitamin d3, omega, Ashwagandha, lions mane and reversatrol as many people with vascular dementia have Alzheimer's, also for neurogenesis.

Edta sounds promising...is this worth trying in his case or should vitamin k or lysine be increased instead?

Many thanks.
