What's the strongest / best ginger extract you've ever found?

I love ginger, it's my favorite supplement because it's so good for stomach ails. But it seems like supplements these days are weak or something.

I could be wrong. I feel like back in the day AOR ginger was amazing but they discontinued because Gravol brand took over. and they suck.

Again i could be wrong. maybe back them somehow ginger worked better on me.

I prefer liquid extracts. Also i'm not a fan of mixed stuff, for example rosemary and ginger together mess up my stomach even worse.

Swanson sells a 20% gingerol extract, although 5% is available in bulk on amazon. FWIW, I don't find 5% gingerol extract to be much stronger than just organic ginger powder, and i've read the gingerol content of fresh ginger is somewhere around 5% to begin with. So at least in terms of cost efficiency, powdered ginger is probably the best choice since you can simply scale up the dosage.

Slightly going off topic but I've been blending ginger with cold water every day and drinking it and i swear I have barely had any stomach problems since. Could be coincidence....

I gave up on the supplements, since our local store has the fresh root for $.99/lb. I take the root, peel it with a spoon, cut it up in pieces, and totally mush it in a Magic Bullet blender with a few tablespoons of Everclear (95% alcohol, 190 proof).  Using a spoon and a tight mesh sieve, I squeeze out all the ginger juice, and keep it in the fridge for later use. That mash extract juice is VERY strong, too much so to use without greatly diluting.

Whenever I need some tea, I use something between a tsp > tbls in a teacup of hot water.  I add a tsp of Maple Syrup and occasionally other extracts as well, but the ginger alone makes a great tea, and I have found it settles the stomach quickly. I can't imagine anything more pure than that!

Oakman, thanks for the idea.  Have you noticed any effects from this, other than a good tasting tea?  Ive used the root when using the juicer, it's in the "Mean Green" recipe as well as many others, and I do enjoy the bite.

One of my common bed time routines is to use the ginger tea to take:

> 300mcg melatonin

> 800mg/220mg IP6/Inositol

> 2 pills of my "Rejuvination & Mood stack"

I find that, esp. w/low dose melatonin, I have lucid dreams, easily recalling detail in the morning, which I find interesting. The ginger tea, being hot, helps absorption, while relieving stress and reducing inflammation, is a good complement to the other supplements.
