Well, I certainly like the idea. Anything that gets me out of traffic sounds like a good idea. I did however think that tunnels were everywhere they needed to be, but perhaps more extravagance is in order. Personally, I thought that having a drive itself vehicle would lead to better traffic or at least less care for what was going on... so more autonomous autos, and that might make this redundant unless he's got an idea to improve the design of tunnels and add wifi and fancy holographic lights or something. I suppose express tunnels would be nice, or tunnels under highways to remove traffic lights rather than mega mountain scale tunnels... though maybe that would be better... so far as I've seen, entrances are too few and far between.... the bigger problem is traffic patterns that are old due to old city planning. I think city redesign would be a better solution. Abandon the old cities and rebuild new ones in a mega project that will recycle all materials on wheels... oh just program my car and build apartments on top of office buildings like they do in China, this is getting ridiculous the more I think about it. Perhaps Elon has something I haven't thought about in his head though. I guess we'll have to wait to hear it.
