Hello everyone,

Just wondering what you would consider to be the most bioavailable mitochondrial protective supplement out there?

Carnitine and lipoic acid. Works synergistically and both are good for the mitochondria.

Though it seems that mitochondrial mutations are not an issue, they're very rare. What you should be focusing on is increasing the amount of mitochondria, which this combo does.

  • CoQ10 or ubiquinol (the reduced form)
  • L-Carnitine, which shuttles fatty acids to the mitochondria
  • D-ribose, which is raw material for ATP molecule
  • Magnesium (as magnesium bisglycinate a highly bio-available form, and especially good because many people are deficient)
  • Omega-3 fatty acids
  • All B vitamins, including riboflavin, thiamine, and B6 (don't overdo B6 because of neurotoxicity)
  • Alpha-lipoic acid (ALA)

Above from Mercola with some minor additions.
