I am new to the board but found it when searching for more economical options for Cycloastragenol.  Found someone had posted "Bad Monkey" you can buy in bulk.  So then went about finding how to make my own supplement Capsules.

Think i have it figured out but mostly need the below:

 - what sort of capsules (e.g., safest from destruction from Stomach Acid)

 - what sort of "filler" - (e.g. want to have it be as bioavailale as possible - see other manufacturers use chitoscan

-What dose to use? (was thinkig @ 46 years old to use 20mg)

 - any sort of other ingredients to add as filler?  (e.g micronized resveratrol, plain astralagus, etc.)

Any feedback welcome!!

Where do you find the bulk powder? If you can find the bulk powder then you might as well use DMSO and avoid the capsules.

Where on earth did you find bulk powder? TA makes cycloastragenol from what I understand and they sell the stuff directly to consumers by the bottle.

I am sure they have a patent on the process, not sure how it's done though.

I bought some of the Bad Monkey Cycloastregenol you mentioned.

I also picked up some cheap 20:1 Astragalus Extract Powder off eBay.

Finally I picked up a couple bottles of slow dissolving Empty Capsules from Aroma Ready, Size 0.

I made up a bunch of 10mg of the Cyclo per capsule with the rest being the Extract.

Have never taken the TA-65 so I have no comparison.  I really haven't felt anything special, but I tend not to be very sensitive, I just trust I'm getting some benefits.

The patent iirc applies to a specific process of extraction. More extraction methods have been made besides the one Geron discovered. Geron's patent might also apply only to micronized cycloastragenol, this stuff is larger mesh.

Capsuline and PurecapsUSA(haven't confirmed the ingredient list on this one) make acid resistant capsules that will suffice. You don't have to use a filler. Chitosan is meant to protect it from stomach acids and may delay the absorption in the alkaline portion of the gut where it could get digested by other methods. It's logically best to get it absorbed asap, so just scoop it into the capsule with a micro scoop and cap it.

It may be contrary to common wisdom but I've never agreed with the concept of taking astragalus or cycloastragenol mixed with chitosan to increase bioavailability. I know one study showed that chitosan increased AS4 levels in the bloodstream but I've never seen a study that showed that for cycloastragenol. It just doesn't make sense to me that taking oil-soluble supplement would benefit from being combined with a soluble fiber like chitosan or any other soluble fiber for that matter. Soluble fiber having the primary characteristic of bonding with oils, rendering them indigestible, and removing them from your digestive tract in your stool. I could see the benefit of taking a soluble fiber supplement maybe an hour or two before oil soluble supplements, to purge hard to digest oils from your digestive tract. But not with them. Better to take them with an easy to digest oil, in my opinion.  So I avoid cycloastragenol or astragalus compounded with chitosan. Terraternal is the only high potency cycloastragenol I know of without chitosan, so I uncap it and mix it with an 80% standardized astragalus extract and compound that with beta-cyclodextrin to boost bioavailability. Really wish there was a high purity reasonably sized bulk powder cycloastragenol source. I had previously tried Bad Monkey for a while until they lowered their potency.
