As you can see, what I noticed is, well, a good regimen for CKD is basically an anti-aging regimen; slowing general growth and senescence in the body, is basically the key here)
(I will include studies for each item, as far as possible, in a more detailed comment or post later)
Sleep (Quantity/Quality)
Diet (Ketogenic/Limiting protein intake/Good polyphenol intake)
Fasting (Intermittent fasting/Water fasting)
Caloric restriction
Exercise (Aerobic/Anaerobic)
Drinking a lot of water (Duh, but not really)
Microbiome optimization (Probiotics/Prebiotics/Dealing with SIBO and/or Candida)
Mitochondrial optimization (TULIP stack)
LLLT on Kidney area (only have anecdotal experiences, need more sources)
Sauna/Heat shock (nrf2)
Pielotax (Khavinson peptides, need more sources)
Systemic inflammation reduction (Curcumin/Fish oil/Resveratrol/...)
Limiting Growth factor and Anabolism (mtor)
Rapamycin (mtor)
Astragalus
Fibroblast Growth Factor 1 (FGF1)
Bardoxolone (nrf2)
Metformin
Nicotinamide Riboside (NAD+)
Telmisartan (and other ARBs)
Sulforaphane (nrf2)
GW-501516
Bromantane (NP-160/Actoprotectors)
Dasatinib/Imatinib/Nilotinib
Anyone got stuff to add?
Thanks!

Soalian, I agree with most of that, a few things are iffy or not much info on them but might be good. Why do you assume a keto diet is the best for kidney issues? I had always heard that a lot of protein is hard on the kidneys? Perhaps a low carb high veggy diet would be better? Of course the type of carbs is important too, you want to cut back on sugar and have more complex carbs that break down more slowly I would think.

Slow down there tiger! GFR is based on ESTIMATED hence the e in eGFR. My doc thought I had kidney issues developing because of lowish eGFR.
1. eGFR numbers are based on a person with average muscle mass eating an average diet and something like 170 bodyweight.
2. Body bodybuilders with a lot of muscle over the average person have lower eGFR because of all the protein turnover naturally occurring.
3. Lifting weights even a few days before an eGFR test will show lower eGFR values.
4.forgive my spelling but you need a cystatin-c test that my doc gave me and cleared me of issues. I am over 210. Muscular. Lift weights and eat far more protein than in an average diet.
Also if you find a online calculator that takes bodyweight into account then run the numbers. I did and my much more accurate numbers for eGFR were not in the red zone taking into account age and muscle mass.
So slow your roll there a little bit tiger.
I have even seen creatine supplementing negatively affect eGFR despite all the bro science that says it doesn't work that way.... Well I seen my blood work on creatine and not on creatine and it was significant
Kidney failure will affect literally EVERYONE who lives past 60... Your nuMBERS get worse every year. Rather depressing to think about it.
All these people trying to live to 140 have some huge hurdles to leap over like kidneys and prostates. Take a room full of men in their 50s and 20% have prostate cancer with increasing numbers every year of age.
Thank you for the extensive reply.
Uremic symptoms usually seem to appear fairly late in CKD, that's what got me worried.

Go get a cystatin-c test done before worrying too much. Egfr is simply an estimate based on average person of low weight and like about 30g of protein a day and no weight training.
I make no medical claims but dasatanib improved my egfr a few points.
Kidneys are something everyone on this site should have on their mind. All the exercise and nad in the world won't stopnthe decline of your kidneys with age. No one is going to extend their life unless three kidney problem is tackled....
High protein keto diets won't hurt you if you keep fluid intake high. Drink a lot of water.

I came across a forum thread on some bodybuilding forum where many bodybuilders had noted measurable improvements in protein spillage and creatinine after long term usage of the whole root. Very interesting stuff.
There is also cordyceps militaris to consider

I agree that kidneys are definitely a major roadblock to healthspan. Such important functions but lack of ability to regenerate.

This question is for real? Just marking the term and searching it with the context-menu immetately tells where it is found. Much easier than typing out the question here.

Cordiceps mushroom extracts containing cordycepin are widely available. As the usually first search-results of wikipedia would have revealed.

Ovdeiva or realmushrooms are both excellent brands of cordyceps that contain high levels of cordycepin

What kidney stuff should we check? I've had two urine tests in the last year, one was positive for albumin and globulins, and the other just said protein negative. egfr was fine I think. My piss is cloudy pretty often, though. Even if I drink a lot of water and it's clear, it's still cloudy. So to be clear, I mean even if there is no yellow present, all vacant, it is still cloudy and not transparent. Fasting glucose fine. It's bubbly all the time, but when I searched I can't tell if that is the same as "foamy." One site said "layers of bubbles is bad," meaning a single layer of bubbles is fine? When I piss into the water directly it bubbles certainly, but if I pee onto the side of the toilet bowl and it drains into the water, it is still bubbly. I don't know if this is the same as foamy. Another site said eating a lot of protein can cause cloudy pee, as can dehydration. It's not constantly.

What do you think of Pielotax, a peptide bioregulator from Khavinson:
https://www.ergomaxs...de-bioregulator
Anyone tried it?
they have another one "renisamin" a "cytamin"
mmm, so basically no actual studies. One in russia with 40 people? (for the pielotax I believe)
the fact that they have "cytamins" and "cytomaxes" for each body system / organ makes me think the eastern europeans got wise to westerners buying cerebrolysin and decided to fleece us.
BDNF is a real thing 9although oversimplified on forums like these) , the actual evidence i'm seeing searching research databases for anything approaching that for kidneys is very preliminary. I certaintly don't think the soviets knocked it out of the ballpark in '71 by grinding up danish pig kidney medullas and spinning the resultant goop in a test tube.
