In the past I've bought Swanson pea protein, but a review on amazon said that the product is created in China.  A person mentioned that they should include the amino profile but don't -- is that something that you need to see on protein?  In another product description someone said the supplement was made in China, and the company replied:Attached File  Untitled-1.png   39KB   0 downloads

Then I thought all pea protein comes from them, that's not good.  But then I saw another brand labeled Anthony's that says it's from Germany.  Moreover, this one has more sodium per serving than the kind I used to get, though.  And it doesn't say Germany anywhere on the packaging, just on the page.

Is this type purer than the rest?

Seems like most supplements come from China now.  Below is an article by NOW foods about this.

Really it comes down to the company on the label - do you trust they are testing what they receive?

"Now, what does this mean for natural supplements and health ingredients? All ingredients from China are now suspect. In many cases our industry has no options but to purchase ingredients from China. The Chinese have cornered the commodities market for ingredients such as Vitamin C, the B vitamins, Stevia and xylitol. Although some of these ingreidents may be available from other countries, the vast majority in terms of tonnage, come from China. At NOW Foods, we have been aware of this, and have taken measures to control the quality and ensure the safety of these ingredients.

Our quality control procedures involve the setting of specifications and testing to these specifications for all ingredients, no matter where they come from, but especially from China. It’s our responsibility to ensure a safe supply of products to you. We take this responsibility for good design and testing seriously. We have invested huge amounts of money in a GMP facility and expensive testing capabilities. We audit our ingredient suppliers to ensure hygiene, quality and safety. We test for identity, purity and potency, and we look for contamination and adulteration, no matter where the ingreident comes from."

Now it looks like the brands that produce over here have a lot of sodium in their product, and the ones from elsewhere have less sodium.

But then it comes from China.
