Hi,

First time posting in this forum. About three weeks ago I suffered a strange problem. I have strength training for over 17 years and have never experienced an injury of any kind. However, three weeks ago, I was doing chest/triceps (only six sets in total), and while doing my first exercise (chest press), I felt pain in my left elbow. This was highly unusual. I finished the workout despite feeling considerable pain on all the remaining exercises. What was even more strange is that about three days later, I was exercising my legs (also only about six sets in total) and afterwards felt noticeable pain in my knees. I have since tried to exercise a few more times to gauge the type and amount of the particular pain that was affecting me, but each time I felt I made it worse.

I have refrained from exercise for the last week-and-a-half, but the pain has persisted, for more than three weeks now. I now have pain in both my elbows, but particularly my left elbow, to the point where I can't even use that arm to pull off a t-shirt or lean on the elbow even on a soft surface. The epicentre of the pain seems to be the very pointy bony end. Similarly, with my knees, the give me pain when I walk and when I press on the kneecaps, which is where the pain seems to be located.

Does anyone have any idea what has happened to me? Two sets of joints being hurt within a few days of each other with the pain not easing even after ceasing to exercise, all after exercising for nearly 20 years without ever getting any joint pain?

Anyone has experience of treating it with BPC-157 or something similar?

Thanks,

tolerant

Do you check for ticks? It's rather odd that this is something very sudden. Have you taken antibiotics of the fluoroquinolone class in the last year? How many over your lifetime? Have you had exposure to any toxic metals?

Curcumin, aspirin, and pine bark ext will all help with the inflammation.

Hi YOLF,

Thanks for your input.

By ticks, do you mean the insects? How do you "check" for them?

I'm not aware of having taken antibiotics in that class in the past year. I only remember having taken a few doses trimethoprim and sulfamethoxazole. Other than that I haven't been prescribed antibiotics in years. I remember taking a few doses of an antibiotic for a chest infection about two years ago, but I don't know what it was.

As for toxic metals, I have amalgam fillings, but I've had them for 20+ years and never experienced joint problems.

I'm not sure if I have inflammation. The joints have been hurting for nearly one-and-a-half months now and they don't look swollen or inflamed. The anti-inflammatory medication I was initially prescribed didn't help with the pain.

I soon plan to do x-ray and ultrasound on my elbows as well as blood tests.

Thanks,

My two cents.

List your supplement and foods, especially anything new (past 6 months). Go get tested for rheumatoid inflammation markers (sed rate). Check for hidden infections in teeth, gums, appendix. Check your environment for mold. Check any new detergents, cleaners, or sources of pesticides (lawn care New treatments, etc). Get additional medical testing, virus titers, Lyme, strep antibodies, hormones, vitamin d, osteocalcin, iron and other mineral levels. Full work up....

If you still find nothing then seek out an active release specialist for a diagnosis. A good one will feel around for joint tissue issues.

Mercury from amalgam builds up over time. Do you get sick or foggy headed from drinking hot liquids, energy drinks, or sick following alcohol consumption? The amalgams will leak more the older they get. Both Sweden and Japan have banned amalgam dentistry. It remains controversial, but the momentum is on the side of science.

As for checking for ticks, you just look for little dark specs in warm areas that aren't supposed to be there any time you spend time in in contact with nature. Also change and wash your clothes when you come home from nature outings. Try to avoid rubbing up against outdoor animals or foliage. A tick bite looks like a bullseye(sometimes). There's also something I heard about recently called STARe (sp?) which is a similar insect based infection.

The sulfa antibiotic can apparently damage nerves.

Also, look into allergy testing, even if you've had it done already. Be sure to read this. The APGIV system of plant classification can predict what foods and plants you have a higher susceptibility of allergy to. Also stay away from corn or other transgenic plants which may now contain allergens from other species.

I'm not going to repeat what has already been suggested here, but another diagnoses could be 'reactive arthritis' caused by an infection.

I frequently have sudden, very bizarre join pains in my back, my knees and shoulders. It makes no sense to me but it just happens randomly even if I have not exercised.

Well, the solution seems simple enough. I certainly wouldn't stop exercising. Could be related to an underlying condition.

Type 2 collagen is the best imo for joint health but doses need to be 5g-10g daily. And do not combine it with Type 1 and/or Type 3 collagen.

Best bang for the buck here. Tastes awful but add it to a protein shake and it’s not bad.

I guess it depends on muscle mass and age, I've read that excessive collagen can lead to auto-immune disorders. Chondroitin will synthesize it iirc. Pom Extract can increase collagen and elastin production of it as well as enhance stem cell proliferation.
