For those interested in supplementing with cocoa for cardio-vascular and other benefits, what is the best way to take it?  Eating a reasonable amount of the darkest chocolate you can find, or taking it in a powdered form, perhaps in a capsule?

The powered form has the seeming benefit of not getting extra fat and sugar, which while reduced in a very dark chocolate is not zero.  However the existing studies on cocoa you find tend to be of consuming it as a dark chocolate.  Is there perhaps a downside to consuming it in powdered form?

I've been taking Cocoavia for years. Does it work? Who knows but they do fund promising research. (MARS corp)

I had been eating quite a bit of intense dark chocolate, but became concerned with the amount of lead and cadmium in even well known brands, according to recent testing of products. Switched to Cocoavia about a month ago, plus I like what the research showed on their website https://www.cocoavia...ce/publications

We have an outlet here where near expiration supps are sold. I was lucky to find a 12 box of bottles of CocaVia 375mg 60 caps there at a nice price ~ 60% off Amazon.  So I'm set for a few months!

I was considering getting some from terrasoul and waiting for a COA to examine heavy metal content. I do know chicks love chocolate and would probably be a good thing to keep around for any single guys. I may pick up a bag if it is a long expiration date, as I have considered adding it to coffee when brewing since I use a mesh filter / reusable. I am keeping my eyes open to this topic. It does contain procyanidins.
