Our next guest on the Longecity podcast is Kelsey Moody, CEO at Ichor Therapeutics.

Kelsey first came to our attention as the student program coordinator and research assistant at the SENS foundation. Since then we have been helping to fund both research and interns at Ichor Therapeutics, much of their focus has been on LysoSENS (clearing waste accumulation out of cells), cancer research, and C60 olive oil analysis.

Let us know if you have any questions in the comments below  :)

Ask about the current status of journal publication concerning the death, attributed to C60 in olive oil,  of some rats . Moody announced about 1 year and 5 months ago of intent to publish results.

Any progress on getting lipofuscin consuming enzymes into lysosomes?

I second this.  Since Kelsey raised this issue I think it is incumbent on him/Ichor to publish their data and I would very much like to know the status of that.

How far are we from seeing the AMD drug reaching the market? Is all or some of vision decline associated with subclinical macular degeneration? Could young people take low doses to delay or prevent decline? Is the mechanism of action applicable to other diseases or subclinical aging pathologies, or could it make us younger in other ways? Is there a graphical representation of the curve for the accumulation of the vitamin A metabolite, or one tracking the accumulation of damage in lysosome?

Keep up the good work!

So far I am only aware of research into leukemia and longevity. Does Kelsey plan other exploring other orthogonal domains with c60? For example, there were a few anecdotal accounts of remarkable healing of burn injuries (possibly as a consequence of reduced ROS damage). It would seem at least reasonable to assume that persistent anecdotal accounts of certain effects would serve as useful direction for further research. How confident would we need to be that the accounts of burn-healing are correct in order to justify the research given the benefit would be huge?

My other question is one of concern with regard to the future of c60oo; it is hard to imagine given the price differential between c60oo and a prospective c60-drug that the oil won't still proliferate in the future, which given your concerns over stability, is a concern especially as we have a hint from one member of the possibility of exceptional effects at extremely high doses of c60oo,  Such large dose experimentation would likely be out of reach with a drug, much less so with oil, especially home-brew.

Finally, does he have any thoughts with regards to the likely stability of other oils with c60 - e.g. Avocado/coconut/MCT

Can you comment on Turnbuckle's postulate of a demethylation effect of the c6000?

In your second study when the mice died from a toxin believed to be from the commercially produced c6000, did the number of tumors in the treated mice differ significantly from the number of tumors in the control group and OO only group?

At this point what do you believe is the most serious risk for healthy people taking c6000?

Have you tested any group with C60 in MCT or oils other than OO?

Thank you and your team so much for your work and transparency/communication regarding it. I look forward to the time you will be able to bring an FDA approved product to the market.

Got all the questions in, if not specifically, at least generally. All of the topics were covered, from AMD, to C60, and much more. Podcast should be ready in a couple days.

The podcast is ready. It is a long one, but packed with great information and insight. Well worth a listen.

Since it is a bit longer, I will break it down by subject/times.

First, sorry for a couple of rambling incoherent questions...thankfully Kelsey was able to make sense of my attempts at getting to the point.

0 to 6 minutes. Current state of business at Ichor.

6 to 16:30 minutes. Discussion of AMD

16:30 to 28 minutes. Discussion of C60

28 minutes to end. More discussion of anti-aging and rejuvenation business including Ichor's recent foray into producing proteins for research (like P53).
