Hi
I tested low on plasma Manganese. The range was 10-40 and my result was "<7 "
I was low-normal on Zinc and Copper.
Is it best to just add in a Mn supp (along with Zn , etc), which would be the easiest and cheapest method by far. This however , may cause imbalances with other minerals long term, especially since the AI is only 2mg/day and most supps contain 4-8 times that amount.
OR
As my current Dr pointed out, since Mn is not found by itself in nature (like most minerals ?) , it would be more ideal to try and obtain it from food, which would contain other minerals as well. This may not bump my levels up much, but seems 'safer'.
What do people generally do with mineral deficiencies? A supp or try and correct with dietary sources.
Any thoughts/advice is greatly appreciated.
